The Christening and Delivery for the fifth 83500dwt Cleanbu Carrier for Klavness

On the morning of 14th October, 2020, the christening ceremony took place at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for the fifth 83500dwt Cleanbu Carrier built by our group for Norway klaveness.

The vessel was christened the m.v. BANGUS by the honourable sponsor. Ms. Signe Brudeset. In a speech at the ceremony, she said the future of the maritime sector is green and towards an environmentally friendly and integrated solutions. The Cleanbu vessels built at NYZ do satisfy it. As innovative vessels they offer low-carbon transport, and make an important contribution to a green future and to the promotion of clean, green seas. Ms Signe Brudeset, the honourable sponsor successfully broke the champagne and blew the whistle, blessing the new vessel safe voyage and good prospects in the future.

The m.v. BANGUS is the fifth of the eight series built by us for Klavness. It was steel cut on June 26, 2019 , keel laid the same year on December 23 and smoothly launched on April 23 of this year. During the construction of the project, facing the challenge from global epidemic, project milestone and equipment supply were affected in one way or another. Our staff worked closely with the shipowner''''s representative, Site team, Classification Society to ensure the vessel compleed on schedule.

According to the feedback from Shipowner, the 4th vessel m.v. BALEEN delivered on August 4th,2020, is currently carrying sodium hydroxide on its voyage. The delivered another three of the same series operate well in dry wet dual mode. The crew are becoming more familiar with the operation of these combined ships and the running- in is smooth.

Mr. Trond Semmen, the site manager of the Shipowner and Mr. Du Chengzhong, the Deputy General Manager of our group signed the delivery document on behalf of the two sides. 83500DWT Cleanbu Carrier m.v. BANGUS successfully delivered.
